Loads of Work

  • Our CDL-A Truck Drivers will be hauling Regional/Line Haul within a 12 state region
  • 2000-2500 average mile runs Out and Back Work
  • Home weekly

CDL-A Truck Driver Requirements:

  • Valid CDL-A license
  • 12 months of verifiable tractor trailer experience
  • Hazmat Endorsement preferred
  • No previous driving record involving consumption of illegal or intoxicating substances in the past 10 years
  • Not involved in a major preventable accident in the past 3 years
  • No more than 2 highway convictions in the past 2 years

CDL-A Truck Driver Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Must meet D.O.T physical requirements
  • Must be able to perform various physical activities to include frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing and overhead work
  • Must be physically capable to operate all applicable company equipment safely

In 1930, Roy Gilbert Sr. started Gilbert Truck Line in Cotulla, TX with one used truck serving San Antonio, TX to Cotulla, TX. During 1940, He was able to secure authority to serve Laredo and the Mexican border. Through the 1940’s, the fleet grew to about 50 pieces of equipment. In 1950, Mr. Gilbert purchased Southwestern Motor Transport Inc., and merged the two companies. This brought the fleet to just over 100 units.
